Ruby, a haven for coffee enthusiasts and connoisseurs of nuts and chocolate, has sculpted its identity around a symbol of playful sophistication—the squirrel. In crafting the interior, the challenge lay in providing ample exhibiting space for the diverse array of products. The solution: a meticulously designed grid of planks that not only brings order but also serves as a dynamic showcase for the enticing variety within.
Step inside Ruby, where the color palette mirrors the natural richness of its offerings—shades of brown and beige harmoniously aligned with the tones of nuts, coffee, and chocolate. This thoughtful integration creates an immersive experience that captivates the senses, ensuring that the interior is not merely a space but an extension of the products it houses.
In collaboration with Kbox, historical photos of the socialist-modernist building were uncovered, buried beneath layers of uninspired additions. Inspired by this historical context, Ruby pays homage to the original facade, restoring its elegant proportions and transparency. The result is a nod to the past, seamlessly blended with the contemporary essence of Ruby.
Materials were chosen with a discerning eye, each contributing to the overall aesthetic and functionality. The floor boasts black natural terrazzo adorned with sizable rounded marble pebbles, lending a tactile and visually striking element. Furniture crafted from massive iroko wood imparts a warm and welcoming atmosphere, complementing the overall natural theme.
The branding wall, wrapped in brown tarpaulin, serves as a canvas for the symbol of the squirrel and provides a backdrop for the curated selection of products. Brass accessories add a touch of opulence and continuity to the design, seamlessly tying together the elements of the space.
Ruby is not just a destination for coffee, nuts, and chocolate; it is an orchestrated blend of design, history, and sensory delight. The space invites patrons to indulge in a rich tapestry of flavors while immersing themselves in an environment that resonates with thoughtful curation and a commitment to both heritage and innovation.
