Nestled in the serene village of Jabenita, within the Solovăstru commune of Mureș County, lies an impressive Salt deposit. Jabenița Salt Baths (“Görgénysóakna” until 1938) is a treatment resort with old traditions founded around 1800 (at the same time as Sovata resort), highly appreciated due to its waters and high-quality mud. At 6 km East of Reghin lies the first village - Jabenița - located on the 1.5 km wide valley of the Gurghiu River, a tributary of the Mureș River. To the North, East and South it is bordered by hills and mountains. In terms of geology, the base rock is the salt anticline, which in some places is very close to the surface. This explains the high concentration of NaCl in the water of the lakes and fountains in Jabenița.
Jabenita, founded around 1800, has grown into a balneo-climateric resort of local significance, cherished for its therapeutic waters and quality mud. The lake, once a Roman salt mine reaching a depth of 70 meters in the 1930s, now stands as a testament to history and natural beauty. Over the years, this enchanting locale has evolved into the Jabeniţa Salt Baths micro-resort, established in 1997 across approximately 4 hectares of tranquil landscape.

The salted lake is seamlessly integrated into its natural surroundings, nestled among lush greenery and embraced by the calming sounds of nature. Natural materials take center stage, with exposed wooden beams, stone accents, and bamboo finishes that not only contribute to a warm and inviting atmosphere but also evoke a sense of connection with the environment. The architecture is designed to complement and enhance the beauty of the natural landscape.
Surrounding the lake are thoughtfully designed gardens, featuring native plants, flowering shrubs, and tranquil water features. The proposal boasts a series of outdoor pools and terraces strategically positioned to maximize views of the surrounding nature. Each pool is surrounded by wooden decking , providing a comfortable space to relax, unwind, and connect with the outdoors.
A café with panoramic views of the surroundings accompanies this space. One can find alongside this, an observatory and playscapes but also private landscape isles.
